Your world of internet keeps expanding its grasp over your daily life, each day. This requires us having to move around the house and try to keep ourselves connected to the internet. This is because all the places that you wish to apply your knowledge to be sometimes sans any WiFi coverage which can pose as a little problem since we won’t be able to stream the video allowing us to practice and learn something new. Other times while staying on your phone, you run into the many existing dead spots in your house which instantly put you off the internet connectivity. While it is a problem, the solution has always been the TP-link range extenders.
The TP link range extenders are compact and can easily eliminate any and all the dead zones that exist in your house. It is wall mountable and easy to use. It can be setup using a few simple steps and at the same time can be connected to multiple devices via an Ethernet connection using the Ethernet cables which can be connected to the many open ports of the wireless range extender.
The most common issue we however see or are asked about is the process of changing the default password. It is a fairly common but important practice that should be followed more often. The default passwords are easy to break and can be found just by knowing the device make and model. The steps that are needed to be followed in order to change the password are fairly easy and can be done easily by you. The steps to change the default password are:
Step 1: First we need to go to the web-based setup page of the router in order to access the home page. To do that, simply go to the TP- Link extender web-page.
Step 2: Once the pop-up window opens, you can see it asking for username and password which you already have.
Step 3: In the available fields use the Username and Password as ‘admin’ lowercase and you will gain access to the web-based setup page of your TP link range extender.
Step 4: Find the advanced option in the available options of the home page.
Step 5: Head over to the System Tools option and click it. Once you do that a list would drop down.
Step 6: Find the password option in the System Tools menu and click it.
Step 7: Fill in the fields with the appropriate data like the Old Username and password, and then enter the new password that you wish to enter. Make sure the password that you use is not more than 14 characters and is a mixture of alphanumeric combination of characters as it becomes a rather impossible password to crack.
